Bratislava, 30 March 2021 – BOOTIQ, a technology company that creates complex IT projects for well-known corporations and start-ups, has acquired a majority stake in digital agency Bluesoft.
The latter develops custom web applications and e-shops on the Kentico platform.
Its clients include Sazka, CzechInvest, Walmark, Carlsberg, Cyrrus, Deceuninck and Bank Austria, with an annual turnover of more than EUR 1.5 million. The value of the company in the acquisition reached almost EUR 3.9 million, with minority stakes still held by the founders Jiří Barbořík and Jakub Hanák, who will continue to manage the company. The BOOTIQ team has thus expanded by 40 people to more than 400 developers and, in addition to Bratislava, has expanded its operations to London and Vienna. It has also been awarded the position of gold partner for the Kentico solution, with Brno-based Bluesoft being the Czech market leader in deploying this system.
“With the acquisition of Bluesoft, we are expanding with another great team of top experts and strengthening our competence in implementing Kentico’s solutions. Several top websites of leading Czech and international companies are running on their system. In addition, we have already had experience with its implementation as a silver partner; now, we are going one level higher. Nowadays, no website or e-shop is built on a greenfield site anymore – on the contrary; companies reach for flexible and tested solutions that meet their business goals. In addition, modern platforms offer extensions with new modules and tools, which Kentico perfectly meets. With the acquisition, Kentico strengthens its competencies with additional cutting-edge technologies, including e-commerce solutions, data consolidation, business intelligence, cloud services or machine learning, as well as IT consulting,”
Marcel Červený, CEO of BOOTIQ
Bluesoft does web projects for large and medium-sized companies from the public and private sectors in the Czech Republic, UK, Austria, the Netherlands and other EU countries. The digital agency was founded in 2009 by Jiří Barbořík and Jakub Hanák, who themselves worked as developers at Kentico during their studies. They then applied this experience as top partners at Bluesoft, where they have worked on hundreds of projects on the Kentico platform during their fifteen years of cooperation, and the two companies have grown side by side. Bluesoft has offices in four European cities: Brno, Prague, Vienna and London.
BOOTIQ is now a gold partner of Kentica, expanding its technology portfolio
Kentico is a modern CMS content management system for creating and managing websites, online stores, intranets, and community pages. The platform’s advantage is that it is not vendor-dependent, giving companies great flexibility and the ability to migrate their projects as needed. It includes dozens of modules and hundreds of web templates used by over 30,000 websites worldwide.
Since its inception, Kentico has focused on continuously developing its platform and customer service – providing top-notch support services and software. As part of the higher licenses, teams of consultants are available to clients to oversee the security and performance of their sites, contributing to the proper functioning of their online business. Kentico was founded in Brno, with additional UK, USA, and Australia offices. In 2010, it became the fastest-growing Czech company in the FAST 50 ranking compiled by Deloitte. This is thanks to its growth, which reached 1,781% over five years.
BOOTIQ has been developing a long-term and targeted partnership system that enables it to deliver innovative solutions from technology leaders such as Tableau, Apify, Keboola and GoodData. It also partners with proven software from well-known corporations, including Atlassian, Microsoft and AWS.

At the same time, several smaller teams were acquired.
